Assembly and checks

A careful assembly process for raised beds

Bunk and loft beds have more connection points than a standard bed. The order of assembly matters because the frame, mattress supports, guardrails and access ladder must work together as one structure.

Liztty assemblers follow the instructions supplied with the customer's product. Before handover, they visually check the assembled components included in the booking and identify any obvious missing, damaged or incompatible parts.

Instruction-led assembly

Panels, rails and supports are fitted in the sequence specified by the manufacturer.

Guardrails and access

Supplied guardrails, ladders and stairs are fitted in their specified positions and accessible connections are checked.

Mattress-height reminder

The customer should use a mattress that meets the maximum-height marking and other requirements stated by the bed manufacturer.

Position and surroundings

The final position should keep a raised bed clear of ceiling fans, heaters, lights, windows and blind or curtain cords.

Restraints and wall fixing

If the manufacturer specifies a restraint or wall fixing, tell us when requesting the quote. Installation depends on the supplied hardware, wall construction, access and the agreed scope.

Mechanism testing

Drawers, trundles and gas-lift bases are tested through their full travel before handover.

Liztty assembles customer-supplied products; it does not manufacture the bed or certify product compliance. Product instructions, warning labels and usage limits continue to apply after assembly. This approach reflects Australian Product Safety guidance on bunk beds.

No. The assembler brings the required assembly tools. The bed should include all manufacturer-supplied panels, slats, fittings, restraints and hardware.

The assembler will identify the affected part and explain what is needed. Work can continue only where doing so will not damage the product or leave the structure incomplete or unsafe to use.

Existing-bed disassembly and furniture moving can be added when requested before booking. Send photos and item details so the extra work is included in the quotation.

Packaging can be stacked neatly after assembly. Removal and disposal can be added to the quotation when available.

Use the mattress size and maximum thickness specified by the manufacturer and shown on the bed's mattress-height marking. The Australian Product Safety guide also recommends following the product instructions and using the correct mattress.

Follow the age warnings and instructions supplied with the bed. Australian Product Safety guidance says a top bunk or raised bed is not recommended for children under nine, while noting that maturity and development can vary.
